CONTENT OF A GOOD COMMUNIQUÉ 1

I’ll like to start with the definition of a Communiqué. A communiqué is very different from a report.
I remember once I was contracted to write a communiqué for a very high placed forum in Nigeria. After the program, the organizers asked if I included all the names of the speakers and I answered “no”, when asked “why”, I told them I was paid to write a communiqué and not a report.

So, what is a communiqué in the real sense of it? The content, that is, the style used in the write-up will define if it’s a communiqué or a report.

Polio Intervention in Nigeria 4

This is one fact that is long-termed. There are no good roads or no roads at all to reach the place of supervision.

Boshe did not get to his designated ward in one of the days during a round. While crossing the river, he fell into it and got soaked. His supervision on this day was cancelled.

I could also recall one of the times I went on supervision and all I saw were rocks and mountains. Where is the road? I asked.

How can we reach the people over there?

More hands on deck please.

Polio Intervention in Nigeria 3

The in-effectiveness of the team members could also drag the intervention back.

Salome Solomon, then, but now Salome Sunday, and I have had the experience of a team pouring away the vaccine while recording its administration in paper

Now, this is wickedness to humans.  How can this be reconciled? Things of this nature needs to be articulately checked. These are people from that same ward trusted upon to carry out a future saving assignment.

Polio can be fought successfully in Nigeria if these factors are put in check.

Need more facts? Don’t go away!
